From Grids to Clouds - e-Infrastructure and Business

EGI_DS organized an Industry Day, together with the Lithuanian NGI (LitGrid) and BalticGrid-II project in Vilnius on 17 December 2009.

The event focused on the role and use of the e-Infrastructures (grids and clouds) in Business. The opportunities in use and the development of grid and cloud technology wer discussed.

Presentations displayed recent development in the establishment of e-Infrastructures on a National, Regional and European scale, and on collaboration opportunities between Academia and Industry.

Key speakers from EGI_DS, Baltic-Grid and LitGrid, and also from private companies doing business related to grids and clouds addressed the audience.
