1st EGI Council Meeting in Amsterdam, 9 July 2009

The 1st (MoU-based) EGI Council meeting IS NOT an open meeting or EGI workshop. The EGI Council is currently composed from NGIs and EIRO members having signed the MoU. According to Article 5 of the MoU "each (MoU) Party shall appoint one authorized representative who together shall form the EGI Council. Each Party may appoint a deputy or a proxy". Therefore at a maximum 2 participants from one country can participate at the 1st EGI Council meeting. At the end of the 1st EGI Council, the 8th Policy Board meeting will take place. Participation at the PB is as usual open to all NGI official representatives listed at http://web.eu-egi.eu/partners/ngi/.

During the day, a visit to Matrix IV building, the EGI.eu office location, will be organized.

EGI Council members and other registered EGI Council meeting participants are kindly invited to a dinner that will be offered for the PB participants in the evening before, on the 8th of July at Brasserie Harkema in the centre of Amsterdam. Please see the map of the venue.

>From The Bridge Hotel:

Turn right and walk past the river till the first big street (Amstel,
Waterlooplein). There, across from the Opera and City Hall, is the stop
for tram 9.
Take tram 9 (towards Diemen), get out at the stop Kruislaan and catch
bus 40 or walk to Nikhef, which takes about 15 minutes (keep going
straight on to the Science Park, under the viaduct, then cross the
street to the left hand-side at the bus stop. Past the fence walk
straight on to the bike racks and on the left around the corner you will
see Nikhef!)

>From Hotel Parklane:

Turn left and walk until the Plantage Middenlaan. Walk to the left on
the Plantage Middenlaan untill you reach the stop for tram 9.
Take tram 9 (towards Diemen), get out at the stop Kruislaan and catch
bus 40 or walk to Nikhef, which takes about 15 minutes (keep going
straight on to the Science Park, under the viaduct, then cross the
street to the left hand-side at the bus stop. Past the fence walk
straight on to the bike racks and on the left around the corner you will
see Nikhef!)

>From Hotel Rembrandt:

Hotel Rembrandt is on the Plantage Middenlaan where the stop for tram 9
is. Take tram 9 (towards Diemen), get out at the stop Kruislaan and
catch bus 40 or walk to Nikhef, which takes about 15 minutes (keep going
straight on to the Science Park, under the viaduct, then cross the
street to the left hand-side at the bus stop. Past the fence walk
straight on to the bike racks and on the left around the corner you will
see Nikhef!)

>From NH Tropen Hotel:

The stop for tram 9 is almost in front of the Hotel on the
Linnaeusstraat. Take tram 9 (towards Diemen), get out at the stop
Kruislaan and catch bus 40 or walk to Nikhef, which takes about 15
minutes (keep going straight on to the Science Park, under the viaduct,
then cross the street to the left hand-side at the bus stop. Past the
fence walk straight on to the bike racks and on the left around the
corner you will see Nikhef!)

Brasserie Harkema is on Nes 67

Take tram 9 in the opposite direction towards Central Station. Get off
at Spui. Turn to the right across the canal. Nes is the second street to
the left.
